Geico. Geico is an acronym that stands for Government Employees Insurance Company. It was founded in 1963 originally as a company that provided auto insurance directly to federal government employees. The company provides different kinds of auto insurance policies and work under its main concept that states: “Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance.” The company issues millions of policies every year and provides coverage for motor cars, trucks, motorcycles and other motor vehicles. Geico offers its services in all U.S. states but Massachusetts. The company usually deals directly with people over the phone and the Internet saving money on not employing insurance agents. But this marketing model irritates a lot of consumers and they complain about the poor service.

Esurance. This company was founded in 1998 and operated a long time under the name of Silicon Sierra Holdings. In 1999 the company launched its Web site and started to market its insurance via the Internet. The company provides a diverse line of personal insurance. ESurance is extensively advertised and is well know for its animated advertising heroes that are featured in the commercials. There have been many complaints filed against the company and its telemarketing activities. People also complain that it is very difficult sometime to receive the coverage.
